As far as I can see there's nothing wrong with the boot image OR the BOOT variable! Time to get a new(er) switch? Please help
06-06-2017 02:46 PM
All I can see is the switch booting from ROMmon manually. I don't see anything what you're describing.
Maybe reload the switch and let the appliance do it's "thing" and post it.

If you look at this bit you'll see it:
"
The system is unable to boot automatically. The BOOT
environment variable needs to be set to a bootable
image.
switch:
"
It does not do a recursive search of the boot file, as it should, but when i type:
switch: boot
It boots normally!!!

I agree with John. Post the complete output to the command "sh version" to determine what config-registry value has been set.
I only see something like this when someone did this as a joke.
06-09-2017 03:25 AM
Configuration register is 0xF
Complete display (this is NOT a joke, I'm seriously dumbfounded):
Switch>sh ver

Hi
What is the config register setting? Do a " show version" and the config register should be some thing like this "Configuration register is 0xF"
Thanks
John

if you go into config boot system you can set it from manual mode.
boot man is the command.
then save it and you should be able to have it boot from whatever system is on there.
