Hello,

--> switch is running 16.09.05

I checked the compatibility matrix (linked below), it says that the QSFP-40/100-SRBD requires IOS XE 16.12.1 at a minimum, maybe that is the problem.

hi Balaji

on the opposite side is the same HW/SW with exactly the same problem. also i have all errdisable cause detect * disabled:

service unsupported-transceiver
no errdisable detect cause gbic-invalid
no errdisable detect cause sfp-config-mismatch
Switch#sho int hu1/0/49
HundredGigE1/0/49 is down, line protocol is down (err-disabled)

Not sure this solve the issue.

I follow below steps :

1. remove the SFP and default the port

2. if the port is 10GB SFP - make the port with speed 10GB config

3. insert the SFP, see if that works. - this should do both the sides.

Still issue - check the compatability matrix - this is more of hardware issue - so repalce with correct supported vendor SFP

Full-duplex, 1000Mb/s, link type is auto, media type is unknown

Another important thing is last 4 ports of uplink is 40/100GB only - are you trying 10GB SFP may not work as per i know.

you can try any other ports 1-48 and see if that works ?

Hi Balaji,

as i noticed we r using below QSFPs (which r obviously only 40/100Gbps - as taken from "show inventory"):

PID: QSFP-40/100-SRBD , VID: V02 , SN: FTF2428N73G

& we r using them exclusively in the Hu1/0/49-52 ports (which r 40/100Gbps compatible only). So there shouldnt be any mismatch between QSFPs & slots they r in.

i'm frustrated...

what vendor is this ?  see the speed this worries me.

Full-duplex, 1000Mb/s, link type is auto, media type is unknown
