Troubleshooting BGP neighbour using telnet command

Hi All,

I'm woking to troubleshoot BGP neighbour established issue. I would like to know the format of telnet command which we can use to confirm TCP port 179 is open.

Can anybody help me on this?

Just to see if the port is open? It would be "telnet 179". If your screen blacks out with a cursor in the upper left, it's open, otherwise the connection will timeout.

There could be other reasons why your session isn't establishing though. Have you tried debugging bgp to see if you can get anything on the neighborship?
