Hi all, if I have 2 different vlans with 2 different subnets on them, if i create a trunk port and plug a normal pc in, by changing the ip address on the pc for both subnets, will this work ?

Hi Carl,
The PC OS should support 802.1Q trunking as ISL is Cisco proprietary.
For example, Solaris interfaces support 802.1Q trunking. I'm not sure if Windows support 802.1Q trunking, but VMWare thus.

Dandy

would i be right in saying that if the trunk had vlan 1 and say vlan 5, and vlan 1 is native, the pc would still be able to send traffic over the trunk if on the right pc ?
