Hi fellows,
i'm wondering what is escaping to me but, having the following schema:
My question is, it's possible ping both IP being the same mac-address? if i clear the arp table, i ping the first one with 192.168.111.101 IP and after that i can ping 192.168.111.102 but, if i try to ping again 192.168.111.101 it's not possible until i clear again the arp table...
Can you suggest something, please?
thanks in advance!

Hi,
So, the "user-end equipment" has 2 NICs?
Are they configured in HA (High Availability) mode?

Hi Reza,
Yes. I can call it 2 NICs. One equipment with two ethernet ports but both with the same mac-address.
They do not have availability configuration mode. The objective is to work, or be used, one at a time...
thanks

Hi,
So, with this type configuration, does the redundancy work as expected?
Another word, if you disconnect one of the cables/NICs, does the other NIC take over packet forwarding? Do you have the same issue if you just connect one NIC?

Hi,
Yes, Reza!
The redundancy works fine... it means, when i disconnect one of the cables/NICs, the other takes over packet forwarding and one mac-address entry table is added. Same MAC-ADDRESS, with other IP.
To return to inicial IP, i have to clear manually the second mac-address entry table...
Thanks for your support!
