Hello.
I'm trying to implement the UDLD protocol (Cisco-compatible), but face some problems. There is no enough information for implementing this protocol neither in RFC 5171 (http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc5171) nor on cisco.com (articles
and
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk389/tk621/technologies_tech_note09186a008009477b.shtml).
How can I get a more detailed information regarding protocol state machines and timers?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Oleg,
I do not know if such details are available as the UDLD is a proprietary and a patented protocol. However, it may be useful to read also the US patent where UDLD is described. I am attaching the PDF of the patent to this message. Perhaps it will help a little. Otherwise, you may need to find out about the timers by observing the UDLD behavior closely on Cisco switches.
Best regards,
Peter
