Unable to change to boot new image on 4500

So I have uploaded a new image and do the

no boot system flash (old image)

boot system flash (new image)

but show boot still will show both images, but still old image is used during reload (copy run start before reload).

I have tried the below to no avail.

#redundancy
Switch(config-red)#main-cpu
Swicth(config-r-mc)#auto-syn standard

 redundancy reload peer

Anyone know how I can fix this and boot the new image?

See output:

sh boo
*Sep 5 11:54:04.510: %SYS-5-CONFIG_I: Configured from console by console
#sh bootvar
BOOT variable = bootflash:cat4500e-universalk9.SPA.03.08.04.E.152-4.E4.bin,1;flash:cat4500e-universalk9.SPA.03.08.06.E.152-4.E6.bin,12;
CONFIG_FILE variable does not exist
BOOTLDR variable does not exist
Configuration register is 0x2

Standby not ready to show bootvar

Yes they are and VSS is not configured.
So the other supervisor light is blinking amber.

Looks like the 4500 is still pointing to the old image >>>>cat4500e-universalk9.SPA.03.08.04.E.152-4.E4.bin

You can try this
show run | i boot
make sure you have only the version from which you want to boot and it does exist in the bootflash
Do a write and then again verify the show boot and show run | i boot

Desired output
#sh bootvar
BOOT variable =flash:cat4500e-universalk9.SPA.03.08.06.E.152-4.E6.bin,12;
CONFIG_FILE variable does not exist
BOOTLDR variable does not exist
Configuration register is 0x2

Standby not ready to show bootvar

So now when I console into Sup1 nothing is on screen it is just blank.
So I console into the other sup and do:
sh bootvar
BOOT variable = cat4500e-universalk9.SPA.03.08.04.E.152-4.E4.bin,1;bootflash:cat4500e-universalk9.SPA.03.08.06.E.152-4.E6.bin,12;
CONFIG_FILE variable =
BOOTLDR variable =
Configuration register is 0x2101

Standby not ready to show bootvar

Do you know what is going on?

So I did what you said and now it is showing the desired output you stated
Now the problem is, when I console into the other supervisor it is just blank, does not show nor can I enter anything. Any ideas?

Are the 4500 switches in VSS ?

if yes you can follow this upgrade procedure

https://community.cisco.com/t5/switching/4500x-vss-upgrade-ios/td-p/2635131

Yes they are and VSS is not configured.
So the other supervisor light is blinking amber.

You can remove the VSS link and upgrade them individually and then configure in VSS

When you changed the boot variable statement did you save the config?
Next, look at the config-register value: 0x2101
This means: IGNORE boot variable statement and boot the first IOS (from top to bottom) found in the bootflash:.

yes I saved it.
I have to double check the register.
So not the issue is, that I can only console into one supervisor and when attempting to console into the other it is just basically blank - can't do anything. Any ideas?
