Can anbody please explain the reasons for increasing "Output Discard” Interface Counter in Nexus2000 . ????

Hi Saket
"output discard" is a packet that passed through the fabrinc interface, but was dropped because the host-interface (HIF) buffers are full.

Can you please tell how we can reduce/ stop the continous increasing output discard error in a nexus switch interface .

Hello,
You can enable the Flow-control on the Server side and see the drop counters will be gradually stop.
If possible add additional interfaces from server and configure it in the Port-channel.
