Folks,
While reading/understanding the concepts of vPC I see that the configured HSRP setup acts as an Active/Active setup. However, what I did not understand is how this works?
Can someone help me understand that?
Typically till date we know that in an HSRP setup all the traffic is forwarded only to that switch which has the gateway as active.
Thanks,
N.

If you enable the vPC peer-gateway function, both vPC peers will take the HSRP virtual MAC, and forward packets. Note: This is not seen in the output of "sh hsrp brief".

So, if the vPC peer-gateway is not enabled the Nexus 7K acts as a Cisco 6509 chassis when HSRP is enabled? i.e. only one switch will act as the gateway?
