I 10 switches which I don't know the enable password. I had one shipped to me and I was able to do a password recovery and look at the running config,is there a way to find out the password if it is secret password "5"
I looked at cain and abel but it could take weeks any help would be great thanks.

I am not aware of a way to decrypt the type 5 passwords. There are some decryption applications for the type 7 passwords. The type 5 passwords are MD5 hashed. The only way to break them are using a brute force or dictionary attack. Your best bet is to do a password recovery and use your passwords.

yeah trying to avoid doing a password recovery on all switches. I have 10 switches scatter accross the country.
I would have to ship new switches each location.
