cisco Nexus7000 C7010 (10 Slot) Chassis ("Supervisor module-1X")
Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU with 4115740 kB of memory.
running version 5.2(1) at present. would like to upgrade to a more stable version. at present do not need any more options. what would the best most stable upgrade version with minimum disruption to service?

Since you only have one sup, there will be disruption during the reboot.
Download the OS you want, put it on a flash drive and put the flash drive in to the USB port of the sup. copy both the system and the kick start image from the USB into the flash, run the install all command. once done you need to reboot.

Just wondering if i needed to upgrade in phases or could i jump up to version 6 without any issues?

With the procedure I provided, you can jump up to 6 directly.
