Is it possible to use the two 10gbe (Using CX4 module) ports for connecting servers to a 3750E switch or are they limited to uplinking other switchs/routers?

Thanks

Hi Nick,

Yes, you can use these ports to connect the servers. There are not limited to uplinks only. Why would you want to do that? If you have these servers transmitting more data and utlization more interface bandwidth, you will have challenges in deciding the proper uplink bandwidth. You might end with a few 1G ports bundled together in a port-channel for the uplink. You can use it if it is a test bed environment.

Thanks for the reply

There will be very little uplink bandwidth needed as its mostly vmware traffic passing between local servers.

Fantastic, you are good to go then.

Cheers,
