hi guys,
i would like to know whether the cat6a cable is compatible with catalyst 2960X switch or not?
(there are CAT6a cables already existing in my environment and dont wanna waste them)
the CAT6a cable should be able to comply with old categories such as cat5 but not sure if i can use cat6a or even cat7 on 2960x.
the "cisco multigigabit technology" did not put 2960X switch on the product list so it's unclear for me to know the auto-negotiation on 2960X.
by the way,
is it doable to use SFP-to-RJ45 transceiver(1G speed) with CAT cable on 2960X's SFP+ slot to establish link?

Compatible but an overkill.

I thought major difference between CAT6a and 5 cables is quality and capability of handling PoE. Use CAT6a cables for all VoIP and PoE needs.
