Hello
Because of the EOL announcement of catalyst 4500X switch, we want to replace it with C9500-48Y4C-A in the our new LOM.
I have configured below LOM in the cisco build and price portal:
C9500-48Y4C-A | Catalyst 9500 48-port x 1/10/25G + 4-port 40/100G, Advantage | 1 |
SC9500HUK9-1612 | Cisco Catalyst 9500H XE.16.12 UNIVERSAL | 1 |
C9K-PWR-650WAC-R | 650W AC Config 4 Power Supply front to back cooling | 1 |
C9K-PWR-650WAC-R/2 | 650W AC Config 4 Power Supply front to back cooling | 1 |
CAB-C13-CBN | Cabinet Jumper Power Cord, 250 VAC 10A, C14-C13 Connectors | 2 |
C9500-DNA-48Y4C-A | C9500 DNA Advantage, Term License | 1 |
C9500-DNA-A-3Y | Cisco Catalyst 9500 DNA Advantage 3 Year License | 1 |
PI-LFAS-AP-T-3Y | PI Dev Lic for Lifecycle & Assurance Term 3Y | 3 |
We just want to use VSS and some simple routing features.
Can I use this switch without DNA center for above features?
Do the selected license support VSS?
Thank you

yes, you can set up without DNAC, VSS = Stackwise virtual now.
Look at the license requirement for theStackwise Virtual.

Hello
I can download software, but I don't want to download it. I don't want to upgrade the old switch.
I need some ordinary L2 and L3 switching and routing in our LAN (For end user) and I want to buy this switch. I don't need DNA center features.
I need to be sure, VSS and ordinary R&S features that supported in 4500X are possible in c9500-48Y4C-A without DNA center.
Thank you.

I hate to be the one to break it to you: The switch is going to be loaded with 16.12.1 (when you get it). You will want to upgrade/downgrade the firmware. Soon.
Have a look at CSCvr86782.

If you use any of these technologies, you are required to continuously invest and renew your DNA licenses
DNA licenses are not strictly tied to DNA-related features, but limit usage of switch-features under a perpetual license as well.
