VLAN-DATABASE-QUESTION

                  Hello All

I have 12 clients and 1 Main Location

These 12 sites are on a Class C Network 192.168.x.x with about 12 VLANS each.

I was instructed to change Everyones Network to a Class A 10.x.x.x and consolidate the 12 VLANS to three vlans.

Vlan 1 Data. Vlan 2 Wifi Vlan 3 Voice.

The problem I am facing is that I find it much easier just to change the first two octects of the network address as suppose to trying to figure out where everything is being routed to and what vlans are using trunking and so forth.

What are some disadvantages and advantages of changing the vlans or keeping the vlans the same just changing ip address.

Thanks in Advance Everyone

How big are your sites? Do you have one class C network at each site, how are the 12 VLANS divided at each site.

Voice 192.168.104.0

Wireless 192.168.108.0

Workstation 192.168.110.0

Management 192.168.107.0

And so on

I found it easier to Just covert those to

10.x.107.0

10.x.106.0

10.x.110.0

Instead she wants me to convert to using just 3 vlans data vlan1 voice vlan2 wireless vlan3 using \23 mask. So basically

10.x.10.x for data dhcp 10.x.11.x

10.x.40.x for wifi dhcp 10.x.41.x

10.x.77.x for phone dhcp 10.x.79.x

But I didn't have intentions on redesigning just switching classes.
