I have a few vlan with status down and line protocol down. when I ping certain IP addresses from workstations I can't.
when I traceroute from DHCP server I get a bounce back from two routers. when i enter the sh ip int br I see the vlan status as down and line protocol down.

Thank you for your quick response I appreciated it. The issue has been resolved as I suspected the physical link was not firmly connected. I don't know how it got loose, but the fiber Gi/ link was not connected.

Hi,
you need to assign VLANs to trunk or access port which is in UP status. then only VLAN status is getting UP.
rate this and mark as answered if this solved your concern

It was working fine two days ago, could this be a result of a physical cable being disconnected? I'm been troubleshooting remotely. can I identify remotely if a cable link is disconnected?

Vlan3 unassigned YES NVRAM administratively down down
The above line means someone has manually brought down vlan 3.
verify with "sh run int vlan3" and see if it is shut.
