VLANS AND IP ADDRESSING

Hello,

I am having an issue on my catalyst 6500E with addressing for a VLAN. I have digital Media Devices on a VLAn and all are on a 10.XX.219.XX, however one Device is coming up with 10.XX.217.XX. It shows as connected and in the correct VLAN. I can see the menu from the device but I cant ping the device or pull up content. All the devices are DHCP enabled. HELP!

Please check the subnet mask for this vlan.

This is probably not /24 (255.255.255.0) and in that case all nodes may still belong to the correct subnet.

There are numerous other reasons why you cannot access a device when its ip settings are correct.

regards,

Leo

I dont think its the VLAn since I have 27 of the same device all working. Its one device on the VLAN that is coming up with the wrong IP address. It should be in the xx.xx.219.xx  but its coming up with xx.xx.217.xx.

Tom,

I have not received the devices yet. I will reach out once I have them in hand and can set them up for network use.

Thanks

JaLisa
