hi all

i have two catalyst 6509 in vss mode, but i have an issue, when the the active chassis goes down the standby becomes active without problem but the proccess cpu increases 28% the process that increases is this 22.79% 23.08% 14.67%   0 LTL MGR

but when both chassis becomes up again (active - passive) the process cpu goes down 3%, i mean just when there is only one chassis the processor goes up.

the ios running is 15.0.1SY

is this normal? what is the LTL MGR process??

thanks

Hi,

This is normal behavior in my opinion because LTL indexes for interfaces of chassis 1 are building up during the process of old active coming up as new vss sdby. LTL mgr is component that monitors the LTL indices assigned to the interfaces on cat6k platform. Each interface if it is physical, logical etc .. will be having these values assigned for packet routing at the architecture level.

Thanks,

Karthik.
