I have seen a few post here which says that VSS priority is not recommended, and if i remember it correctly I cant find a priority section in the VSS document for latest IOS release of 15.1 for Sup 2t.

Should I configure VSS priority or leave both the switch to have 100 as value. What is the best practice.

There is no need to set priority. If you leave both switches as default (100), switch-1 will always be the primary device and switch-2 will be stand-by. Of course if switch-1 fails switch-2 will take over.

i set switch priority for physical reasons. If my top switch is #1 and the bottom switch is #2 i want to always make sure top switch is the primary role. Just something i like to do.
