VSS will not accept Virtual command

Hi

I have a VSS where switch 01 failed. When I bought it back up (with all config intact) I converted it with 'switch convert mode virtual' and everything was OK but when I tried the 'switch accept mode virtual' on 01 I got the following error:-

Standby is not fully initialized. Try again later

I got this for 20 minutes or so before I stopped trying. Has anybody else seen this?

Hi,

In newer IOS, you don't need that command anymore.

Note: Be aware that the switch accept mode virtual command is no longer needed in Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2 SXI as the configurations are merged automatically.

Thank you for your reply Reza.

We are running

sup-bootdisk:s72033-ipservicesk9_wan-mz.122-33.SXH4.bin

so I guess we do still need the command, but an upgrade may be a solution.

Hi,

I recommend you upgrade to a newer IOS, as "122-33.SXH4" is at least 8 years old.

This image goes back to 2007/2008.
