WCCP Caching Problem

I had WCCP configured to route all HTTP traffic on my Internal VLAN into a new Blue coat device.

Previously I had a older Blue Coat device that used the same WCCPconfiguration and that worked properly.

The problem is since I cutover to the new Blue Coat the WCCP configuration does not hold.  It will work and then it will stop working.  After it stops working I have to manually place the proxy settings in my laptop go to a website and then I just have to remove the proxy settings and then it works properly for about 24 hours before it breaks.  I have to keep following this process.

Do you have any suggestions? The only change is a different bluecoat device with a different IP address but I kept all the other Blue Coat the same as the oolder one..

Hi,

I saw this issue a couple of times with a BC and a Cisco WAE; both issues were related to a bug in the cache software.

You can try disabling WCCP on the router/switch side just to clear out the assigned buckets if GRE or TCAM allocations if L2 redirection, re-enable after a minute or so and see if that helps.

What services are you redirecting to the BC? Just web-cache?
