What PPS values you recommend for Storm-control (Multicast and Broadcast)

I'm trying to setup storm-control on my Cisco 2960 switches. Just curious on what PPS values are commonly used out there. I understand this will depend on the network requirements, but probably a range would be helpful. I try not to make it too big to miss a broadcast/multicast storm or too small to affect normal users.

Have run an SNMP monitor on the switch and it shows about 5 pps on a 5 minute interval. This leads me to use the ffg:

storm-control multicast level pps 10

storm-control broadcast level pps 10

We have about 300+ users in here. Thanks for the inputs.

If your switch supports it you can configure it this way

storm-control broadcast include multicast

storm-control broadcast level 1.00

In this example, that is 1 percent of the bandwidth of a gig interface that can be consumed by multicast and broadcast. If the speed of the interface is for example 100mb you can use 10.

Thanks for the reply. But isn't 1% of 1-Gbps still too big? This is what I have seen also when googling for it.

1% is only 10Mb. That is not that much.  The goal is for broadcast and/or multicast not to bring down the network by filling up the links or just use too match bandwidth.
