I have some MS servers doing Loadbalancing with WLSB ( Windows Load Balancing Server )
aperently it is expected behavior to see some unicast floods with the vlan that the server is connected to.
as described in these two articles
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;193602
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk389/tk689/technologies_tech_note09186a008011b481.shtml
from this it is my understanding that the only way to limit this flood traffic is to have the load balance server in it?s own VLAN with as little else as possible in that vlan. So the floods will be contained within that vlan
am I understanding this correctly or do you have any other ideas of how best to achive this ?
any thought would be great.
Cheers

Hi Arni,
Yes. You are correct in your understanding.
As pointed out in the Microsoft site, unicast flooding is the expected behavior of the WLBS technology.

is it a common practice to solve this by using a static mac table entry on the Cat6500 ?
or is any other better way
