What is the actual IOS version ?
Refer to the release note to determine if it is a major release. Always best pratice to go step by step if a lot software version is aded at each step. it is is not the case, you can jump to your 16.6.8.

Ensure that all switches in the stack are running the same IOS version (preferably the same exact version, such as 16.6.8). Mixing different IOS versions in a stack can cause compatibility issues and instability.
