I am looking for some help on how to properly configure/create a new stack using two WS-C3850-48T-S switches.
These are two brand new switches directly out of the box and never been powered on/configured. What is the proper procedure to configure these two switches to create the stack.
Mainly, do i configure the switches as "standalone" switches first then plug the stackwise cables in, or do i plug the stackwise cables in first, power up the switches then do the configuration?
Past that, what are the commands or things i need to do that are different from setting up a stand alone switch
Thank you for your help.

Stack them up first and do your configurations.
Have a reading of these to have more knowledge on the subject

Ok great. Thanks for the response. Since there are two switches in the stack and this will be my "core" responsible for the VLAN configuration as well as routing, how many IP addresses will be needed? Only one for the stack or will one be needed for each switch as well.

are you asking about do two swithes needs 2 ip address for management?
Answer is no. When you stack them it becomes a single logical unit. It will have only 1 CLI to access both switches.
Thanks,
Madhu.
