Hi,
I have WS-C4510R running on Version 12.2(25)EWA6 and getting high CPU usage for 10 mins every 2 hrs, due to the SNMP ENGINE process.
My C4510R using SNMPv3 to communicate with ZABBIX and SolarWinds.
I have attached the log of show platform health, show platform cpu packet statistics all, show processes cpu sorted | exclude 0.00 and show stacks <SNMP Process>
How can I find the root cause and solve this problem
Thank you.

After closing the connection between the Switch and SolarWinds, the CPU was no longer high again. The cause was from SolarWinds, I don't know why but have to check about polling. Thank you.

what sup card it has ?
what is the outcome if you stop SNMP Service - is this stable ?
how quick you are polling Zabixx to Switch ? can also try increasing the time and see if that improve ?
how long was the switch up time ?

A few tips:
-Try to reduce the frequency of polling SNMP from the device (>=30seconds)
-Limit the access to the SNMP Polling using ACLs
-Evaluate SNMPv2 since SNMPv3 has some overhead due to security/privacy
The EOS for that release is back to 2013, so upgrading it might be out of the question unless you have the latest supported release somewhere.

1. Turn OFF both Zabix and SolarWinds for about 30 minutes.
2. See if the CPU utilization has gone down or not.
3. If the CPU has gone down, enable EITHER SolarWinds or Zabix and observe for 1 hour.
4. See if the CPU utilization has gone down or not.
