Hello.

We have experiencing an issue with one catalyst S-C6513.

The issue is that the customer is using 2 cards WS-X6148E-GE-45AT.

Most of the time the switch puts the modules on but sometimes those modules are shown off (not supported).

Mod MAC addresses                       Hw    Fw           Sw           Status

 12  6c20.5600.1560 to 6c20.5600.158f   1.4   Unknown      12.2(33)SXI2 PwrDown

When it happened, We tryied to put the cards on manually but that action does not work.

We are able to put them on, changing the IOS, but randomly it failed again.

I am wondering if there are something bad with the model of the cards.

We are using the following:

 Supervisor Engine 720 10GE (Active)    VS-S720-10G

We have tested with the folowing operating system with the same result:

s72033-ipservicesk9_wan-mz.122-33.SXI2a.bin

s72033-ipservicesk9_wan-mz.122-33.SXI10.bin

s72033-ipservicesk9_wan-mz.122-33.SXI14.bin

Has anybody experienced the same issue?

Regards

Hello Leo.

Thank you for your help and time.

Here is the information (since I am not able to get Access to the device right now, I took these information from the last show tech support I took.):

If I remembered correctly, the 6K power supplies have two (2) power input "slots", are both power supplies only supplied with just one?

Yes we are using just one because in our lab we don´t have enough power outlet. But I have change the power supply configuration to work together and we got the same result.

We are planning to install this chasis back to the customer site the next week and we are a Little concern because of this issue.

And When I change the operating system (boot with another one) the cards are put online and Works fine. The issue happens again randomly when we boot the box or when we change the card to another slot.

Regards.

Pull one of the power supplies out. Put the second power lead into the first power supply. Make sure the LED to the power supply is all green.
Reseat the line card and post the new entries to the command "sh logs".
