we can't start WS-X6708-10G-3CXL on WS-C6506-E

we did try on conf t mode "power enable module 3" and it didn't work

Hi,

Can you move the module to a different slot and try again?

Also, you are running a very old version of IOS. Try a later version of SXi or SXJ.

Hi,

DFC3CXL cards require newer IOS.

WS-F6700-DFC3CXL

• Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(18)SXF5 and later with Cisco Supervisor 720 3B if using with WS-X6708-10G-3CXL line card

• Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(33)SXH and later with all the line cards mentioned above

So as Reza wrote you need to upgrade software.
