Xerox Scan to PC over VLANs

I have just installed a Xerox 8560 MFP printer and as I am running 6 different vlans I don't seem to be able to get the scan to PC function working.

If a pc is on the same vlan as the scanner, it works no problem. If I try to scan to a pc on another vlan, it can't discover the pc.

I spoke to Xerox who weren't much help. They did tell me that the scanner uses SNMP and SMB to discover the pc's that it can scan to.

Is there a way to forward these packets over vlans like using a helper for DHCP?

It is a 3560G switch with (C3560-IPBASE-M), Version 12.2(25)SEE3, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc2) software.

Regards,

Dharmesh

Thanks for the reply Dharmesh, but I just wanted to check that you understood the question?

I do not need to enable DHCP over the VLANs and I also do not need to enable SNMP on the switch to monitor it.

I somehow need to route SNMP and SMB protocols over the VLANs.

Sorry if I have interpreted your reply incorrectly, if that is the case would you care to elaborate?

I have the same issue and am looking for a resolution, mine is with a Ricoh.

print from PC to Printer works

Scan from Printer to PC only works if the PC is restarted and then it stops.

asa-5506 which is handling DHCP for ALL VLANs - VLANs are 100
