It depends on the quality of the cables used - this is not Cisco specs, it's AV standards. Google "maximum XLR mic cable length" - some people say stick to 50', but there are many people posting on various forums that say they've achieved hundreds of feet with high quality shielded cables, etc. You can certainly exceed 20m, but by how much varies depending on the hardware.
