Hi
I am having trouble establishing a video call between E20 registered to VCS running software version X6.1.
I have a E20 and a 9971 registered to CUCM version 8.0.3. When I make a video call, the call gets connected but I dont get any video.
I also have MCS 4203 and I can join a conference from CUCM endpoint and I get video over the same SIP Trunk
I appreciate any inputs with this issue

It could be CSCtc43440.
Please follow the instructions below to see if it works :
Currently, the 9971 and 9951 phones do not support video resolutions
greater than 640x480.
If the other end point sends a size greater than this, the 9971/9951
displays a black box instead of the video sent by the other phone.
Workaround:
To prevent non-Cisco phones from sending resolutions greater than
640x480 (VGA), the video bandwidth setting must be reduced. To change
the bit rate, set the Video Call Bandwidth parameter in the CUCM region
configuration to no more than 384 kbps for the region used by at least
one of the phones.
Some video phone models will send larger resolution than 640x480 even at
384 kbps. If a black box is seen on the phone, continue lowering the
Video Bandwidth setting until the other phone sends video at a lower
resolution and video is visible on the 9951 or 9971 phone.
It may be desirable to place 9971/9951 phones in a separate region from
video phones that send higher video resolutions and restrict the Video
Bandwidth between those regions rather than restrict the bandwidth on
calls between phones that do not cause the black screen behavior.
Hope this helps!

Karthik

Thanks Karthik. Unfortunately your suggestion didnt work. I also have E20 registered with CUCM which cant make a video call to endpoints registered to VCS.

hi Ananth,
Can you confirm the following ....
Scenario 1
===========
( i) E20---->cucm---->E20 ( is the video working for this scenario? )
(ii) 9971---->cucm---->9971 ( is the video working for this scenario? )
Scernario 2
===========
( i) E20---->cucm----->9971
(ii) 9971--->cucm------>E20
Now in scenario 2 does the video work in any one direction ( ( i) or (ii) ) or does it fail in both
directions ( ( i)and (ii)) ?
Scenario 3
==========
( i) E20--->cucm---(sip)----vcs---->other endpoints (not working scenario)
Make sure that you uncheck "Mtp required" on the sip trunk . Please note when "MTP Required" is checked, Video
calls cannot take place over the SIP Trunk.
Also make sure that mtp does not get invoked on the sip trunk for any reason ,you may want to use the
DTMF signalling "no preference"
Thanks,
Karthik

Hi Karthik,
We are having a similar issue here. We have CUCM 7.1.5 deployed and cannot upgrade at the moment due to other 3rd party applications not being supported in CUCM 8.5. However, we have 2 x E20s and a C20 deployed and registered (had to downgrade the E20s to v2.2 in order to register) and no video between any of them.
Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks
Oli

Hi Oliver - Wondering, is your E20's and C20 registered to CUCM? Or are they on a VCS? On the E20's, if you navigate to your Systems Configuration>Conference 1> BFCP, would you turn this off on both your E20's and try and make a call to one another. Do you get video then?
C20 may be a bit different. If you have the NPP Option installed, but I'm curious if disabling BFCP on the E20 would work here. Let us know?
