Cisco Webex Codec Plus Registration

Cisco Webex Codec Plus   SW Ver ce 9.5.1 be5deaf82e6 2018-10-19 

I am very much a novice here, Please bear with my ignorance on this. Is it possible to register these units as generic sip on a system other than Callmanager ? Will it be voice only as generic sip ? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
