Hi All,
I face the problem with MCU 4501 with 3rd Party Video Phone Grandstream GXV 3140.
The video call going OK when dial from MCU to Video Phone Grandstream GXV 3140 but vice versa is not.
FYI, the Video Phone support H.264 BP/MP/HP only.
Please help me and many thanks for your cooperation.
Regards,
Rois

If you could tell us a bit more about your deployment, call flow and the symptom?

Hi Martin,
Thank you for your fast respon.
We are using Cisco VCS Control (for SIP server) and MCU 4501.
MCU 4501 and Video Phone Grandstream GXV 3140 registered to VCS Control with SIP protocol.
The Call flow:
MCU 4501 -> Video Phone Grandstream GXV 3140 = We can see the video
Video Phone Grandstream GXV 3140 -> MCU 4501 = We can not see the video
Is MCU support for H.264 BP/MP/HP?
Thanks,
Rois

The 3140 should be able to talk fine with the MCU if the call works fine when called from the MCU. You should be able to get it to work the other direction.
Have you checked all the settings in the interface of the 3140? It should be able to do H.263 and H.263+ as well as H.264. Does it work if you set the Preferred Video Codec on the 3140 to one of these other settings?
Another thing whcih could affect the traffic flows is any firewalls. Are there any firewalls between the deivces, and if so, are all the required signalling and media ports open between them?

If you're dialing out from the MCU, you could specify a codec yourself when you add them. At the bottom of the Add Participants page, look for:
Custom codec selection -
Can be used to ensure only specific codecs are permitted on calls to (and received from) this endpoint.

Hi Patrick,
We did the settings with allow H.264 only in the conferences settings.
When dialing out from MCU to GXV 3275 (only support H.264 BP/MP/HP), the video is OK. But not for vice versa.
Thanks,
Rois

Hi Wayne,
Thank you for your respon.
I will try first with those settings.
How about GXV 3275 that support H.264 BP/MP/HP only??
Did MCU 4501 support H.264 BP/MP/HP?? If so, can you kindly provide with the link?
Thanks.

The "BP", "MP" and "HP" are all Profiles that are part of the H.264 AVC implementation, being the "Baseline Profile", "Main Profile" and "High Profile" respectively. You can find more about these profiles elsewhere.
The "BP" is the most basic profile that pretty well every implementation of H.264 supports, so, yes, the 4501 does support H.264 "BP" the same as your phone does, otherwise you wouldn't see anything when making the call in the opposite direction.
