Do you have a registration device/server handling the call signaling for the endpoints?

What are you connecting to, where you're having to enter # password #, vs just password #?

I don't have access to a Polycom RMX to test, but there is lots of documentation available that says the formats to use to enter a password to a conference.

ie, if you have conference number "10001", with a conference password of "2222", on RMX with name "yourpolycom.com", you should be able to dial 10001$$2222@yourpolycom.com.

This should work from the Polycom or the Cisco endpoints.
