DX80 Audio

Hey all,

Just got a new DX80 and I found a huge issue already.  The DX80 only accepts HDMI from the PC, which is fine however there is no audio input.  How does one get audio into the DX80 when they only have DVI output on their computer?

Hi Justin,

CSCuq01662 is a feature Enhancement request to add Audio in over HDMI for DX systems, the externally facing link can be found here:

I would advise raising this with your account team as a concern and request consideration by the development team to add this in a future version of software for the DX system.

Thank you for that, although that makes the situation even worse now.  Before I just needed some ideas on how to get audio from DVI+3.5mm to HDMI, now I can't even get audio into the system if I wanted to.

Still looking for ideas on the best way to combine DVI+3.5mm stereo from desktop PCs into HDMI.

You need something like this: http://www.atlona.com/HD610.html to do the DVI+3.5mm to HDMI.  Not that it helps with the DX80, but will for other uses.

I am having issues getting the DVI to HDMI to work with just video.  Was there a particular DVI to HDMI cable or adapter recommended?

In fact Cisco apparently did not implement audio over the HDMI.

I heard from Cisco it would be available in a later version available at best end of Q2 2015
