Hello

Does anyone know if Expressway (C and E) can be used like and SBC to route VoIP calls to other SBC's?

VTC works excellent but I am wondering if I can also send VoIP calls through it?

Phones are registered to CUCM.

Currently using X8.10.3

Thanks

Yes and no.  It doesn't do transcoding or many other functions you might find in a CUBE or other SBC, but you can certainly route voice only calls through it.  Works great if you are just pairing with another organization and you all support a common codec (probably G7.11), and don't need to hide IP's etc from each other, but it doesn't have DSP's and can't be registered as a PST gateway to CUCM.  It also doesn't always hide IP addresses properly.

So the short answer is, it depends on your use case.

Hi,

The simple answer is NO. Expressway can't be used as SBC. You should use a voice gateway to connect to your ITSP.
