How to change big screen resolution to native?

We have the CTS 1300 with big screen and native resolution of 1920x1080. Most of the time we use the room for normal meetings with no conference. When I plug my laptop in, the big screen defaults to 1024x768 and won't use the whole screen (the screen is blank on both sides of the image). How do I tell the monitor to get out of conference mode and just asct as a screen in its native resolution? I tried "extend the desktop" which should avoid any clone conflicts and allow me to set the resolution to anything the monitor supports, but when I tried to set it to the native resolution I got an error mesasge on the phone screen stating I have to use 1024x768.

I solved this by putting a HDMI-to-DVI cable on the second HDMI port on the plasma screen (only for 2nd gen displays, intended for DMS).

This bypasses the codec and gives you the capability to use full screen mode.

When a call comes in/goes out, the screen will automatically switch to the primary input (codec).
