Hello,
We're looking to add four new rooms in our existing solution. We need to include a smart board device in each of the four new rooms. One of the options is Smart Tech's Smart Board 8000 Series. I'm looking for some experience and advice on integrating the smart boards with the video endpoints.
Can we Use the smart board as a main display in the SX20/80?
Can we use it as an AUX display with MX700?
Is an Avizia Synch mandatory?
What is the user experience is these cases?
Kind regards,

Hi,
To answer your queries:
Can we Use the smart board as a main display in the SX20/80?
Can we use it as an AUX display with MX700?
Yes. The MX700 built-in codec have 3 video outputs.
For MX700 dual screen HMDI 1 and 2 were already used for the two displays. You may connect your smart board to the DVI-I.
Refer to this guide under p.136 http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/telepresence/endpoint/mx-series/tc7/administration-guide/mx700-mx800-administrator-guide-tc73.pdf
Also you can also set the monitor role connected on the DVI connector (3). Refer to page 124.
Avizia Synch is an add-on and also a good solution for integrating to videoconference. Annotating the content on your whiteboard while sharing via videoconference for collaboration is being synchronized. The calibration of the whiteboard will not be affected while switching video layouts during videoconference. With Aviza Synch, you can maximize your whiteboard for annotation and video conference display in the same time.

Thank you Acevirgil.
When connecting the smart board to HDMI or DVI as a primary display (when using Avizia Synch) or Aux display, do you know if content of Smart board will be shared as video room content to other rooms, or will it be shared as part of the smart collaboration application in above scenarios?

Mohamed

Using Avizia Synch and smart board integrated to videoconference codec, content will be shared as video room content to far end and same time as part of the smart collaboration application in your local room.
See data sheet for more details and for the compatibility.
