Does anyone know if there are issues registering Polycom units to a VCS and using an MCU for multipoint calls with Telepresence units?
Thanks

Third part end points can normally be registered with VCS and it works with the MCU .
But yes this is a design related matter and is depended on the version and the components involved in this network design.
It is always recommended to work with your Cisco Advances services/Cisco account team in this matter.

Hi,
Polycom units can be registered and used for multipoint call with MCU.
For some Polycom units, such MDX they recieve low resolution from MCU 4200 series. For this you need to set appropriate parameters. Check this link for more details.
For 4500 series and 8510, a feature called clearvision which upscale the resolution.
i believe Polycom is officially tested and it works with MCU.

Hi,
to answer your questions we really don't see any challenge in registration part, although we do know couple of test cases where ploycom endpoint doesn't give proper result due to some limitations on polycom side.
However those limitations are deployment specific and normally should not be a problem with MCU dialing and registration.
Thanks
