Mx200/300 concerns

Hi, would like to know if mx300/mx200 can have an embedded multisite option just like the usual cts tp or it will just connect to an external mcu?

Also, will it work on h323 as stand alone or it really needs a ucm or vcs?

By the way, what codec was used for this model?

Hi Marc,

Answers as below

1 - No embedded Multisite option

2 - Yes it will work with H323 for P2P calls

3 - MX200/ MX300

You can also check the datasheet for more information.

Hope that helps!

Hey Marc,

As Ashwani pointed out, the MX200/MX300 does not have a built in MCU to host a multisite call. They will require the use of an MCU, or you can setup multiway on your VCS to escalate the call to the MCU for a multisite call.

If you want the system to work as a standalone with no gatekeeper, you can enable H323 and set the gatekeeper mode to 'Direct' which will allow you to make ip calls to other systems which should work for you.

The MX200/MX300 do not use one of the other C-series codecs as their codec. They have their own custom codec which is used in the system.

I hope this answers your questions. If you would like to know more about multiway and how to set this up, you can check out this configuration guide for an MCU and VCS multiway:
