MX700 Incoming audio issue - muffled, underwater effect

Hi Everyone,

Our company have recently installed an MX700 for a client. The audio from a presentation sounds normal and when the ringtone is playing due to an incoming call however the incoming audio from the far-end participants sounds muffled (underwater effect). I disconnected the speakers one by one to find where the problem lies. to my surprise, all speakers (9 of them above the displays) were disconnected and the muffled audio was still coming out of the unit. the unit is currently mounted on a wall so really hard to check where the audio is coming from. I consulted the installation manual however it only mentions the 9 speakers, nothing else. Can anyone advise if they had the same issue or if they know anything about that mystery speaker. Thanks.

Hello,

The MX700 system does contain a bass speaker built into each display. The sound you are hearing is likely coming from this. I would check the cabling on the system to make sure everything is connected properly (video and audio). If the connections seem find try factory resetting the system. If that does not help you should open up a TAC case to get some assistance with this.

Hi Chad,

Thanks for the info. I spoke to our installer who assembled the MX700 and he is pretty certain that he only wired the top 9 speakers. would you please forward any documentation that you might have that has a reference to that bass speaker as I have consulted both the assembly diagram and the manuals and that bass speaker is not mentioned anywhere. Please see document attached. Thanks.

Alaa,

The bass speakers are built into the display and there is no wiring or configuring them. That is why they are not listed in the installation sheet or documents. I would suggest you open a case with TAC so that we can take a look at this for you.

Hello Alaa,

Did you find a solution to this problem? - I am getting the same issue on a dual screen MX800.

Thanks

James

Solved the issue - the third speaker from the left (one of those installed in the system when it ships) had its speaker disconnected.

Reconnecting this resolved the issue. This is not a great design in my opinion as if one speaker fails then none seem to work.

Audio seemed to play fine when sharing videos via HDMI - the issue only arose on VC calls.

Thanks for this thread which pointed us in the right direction.
