New SX20 system

I saw the new SX20 model and was a bit surprised to find out the camera cable connector at the codec’s end has been replaced with a weird “L” shaped connector which is no longer standard. What was wrong with the original HDMI and Serial connector? Now, CISCO has made a proprietary cable that we can’t get anywhere so troubleshooting will become that much more difficult for this type of product.

These were also my thoughts when I first saw the system.

Sure it might be more userfriendly for the initial setup but for debugging or replacement its a pain.

For me non standard connectors (also see serial ports on ex-series)  or network protocols are not a good way to go.

I guess its for cost or space saving reasons and/or poltical to restict what we can connect to it, ...
