Password Change in TMS

Hello we are having some problems when trying to change passwords on a MSE8000 with 8510 blades that is connected to a TMS install.  We are using Advanced security mode on all of our blades so every 60 days we have to update passwords.  Every time we do this TMS tries to access the blade before we even have a chance to click over and update the system connectivity password in TMS and sometimes will even access it 3 times and therefore locking out the account.  How can we institute a password change in TMS when it already has a valid password so that we can input it in TMS first, then go to the blade?

I have contacted Cisco about this and they havent been much support.  Only suggestion was to purge the system in TMS first, but if we did that then every single scheduled call that we have would have to be rebuilt and all the Conference IDs that we have sent out to our other participants would be different.

TMS install: 14.2.0
MSE 8000 with Codian 8510 blades: 3.67

Hi,

I would advise always using a secondary admin account just for use by TMS, in the event TMS locks this account you are still able to access the blade from the primary admin account.

Generally this could be resolved by deleting the blade but not purging it, then re-adding it to TMS using the new password.

Testing this in the lab, I found that setting the blade to 'inaccessible' under connection settings -> System connectivity in TMS,  then changing the password on the blade, and setting it back to 'reachable on Lan' will prompt you to enter a new password on the Connection tab, and only looks to trigger one failed login attempt against the MCU.

I would advise also testing this with one of your blades and seeing if you have good results as well.
