TELEPRESENCE SIP ROLL OUT BEST PRACTICE

Chet Cronin

We are in early phase of transition from H.323 to SIP for our VTC systems migrating from VCS to CM10.5.  Is there a best practice document out there for a transition and dial plan weather to go with name@domain or number@domain or both ???  Am talking about over 600 systems.

Thank you.

Hi Chet,

I recently did the migration from VCS centric to CM centric (10.5.2SU2), although it was not very big setup from endpoint counts perspective.

I have configured the name@domain as well as dn@domain.com (preferred).

Is this endpoints are per user or room based ?

DN@domain would be best if its personal or userid@domain.com (email id)

Try to reach 10.5.2SU2 on CUCM as few device will register via expressway without VPN if its on remote site.

Also Expressway x8.6.x have SIP-H323 inteworking bug and recently they launched x8.7.

I haven't tested yet, i degraded from x8.6.1 to x8.5.3 for Public IP dialing.

Regards,

Raaj
