Hi,

After upgrading TMS to 14.1.1, i have a problem with TMSSnmpService.

I get this alert on TMS.

"The service TMSSnmpService is not running on server"  I have restarted the service and rebooted server, any one seen this issue before?

Thanks

Mohammed

It's a known issue, bug number CSCue00035 - fix is expected in 14.1.2 which is, at this stage, due out in April.

No need to re-boot the server, just re-starting service is fine.

Thanks Jens. Do you know if this will case any issues on 14.1.1 functionality?

Thanks

Mohammed

Hasn't caused any issues for me, but I do re-start the service as soon as I see the TMS ticket.

This is not happening very often for me though, only once in a while.

Also see

https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/3818666#3818666

for a possible fix. (I don't dare to play around with .Net due to other issues I had with a version of .Net - long story).

I confirm that you are hit by this bug and the release that should contain the fix is 14.2

TMS 14.2 was released today and is now available on CCO (cisco.com).

Hi Kjetil,

I am having similar problems to the one reported by Mohammed.

I have upgraded to TMS 14.2.2. Under the Portal tab I see 8 opened tickets.

They are all similar. The tickets tell me various services are not running. But when I look under services, I either see the mentioned service is not displayed or that the mentioned service is already running. Stopping and starting the services does not see to solve the problem.

Below are the tickets:

Thanks for any help you might offer

George

In general I would recomend to open a new thread instead of making old ones longer.

Can it be that you renamed the server at one point?

Do you run a cluster or only a single instance?

Is it a false alarm or are the services really not running on that server?

Did you restart the server and checked if the alarms are gone?

If you go to:

You are here: Administrative Tools > TMS Server Maintenance

Can you make a screenshot of:

TMS Services Status

and afterwards click on clear.

Does the error still show (might be handy to do a reboot afterwards as well)

Please remember to rate helpful responses and identify

Thanks for the reply

I believe the problem was I entered and incrorrect Host Name under Administration Tools --> Configuratoin settings --> Provisioning Extension Settings -->SMTP Host Name.

Correcting this entry seemed to eliminate the  problem.
