UPGRADE MXP1700 FROM L5.1.1 TO F9.3.4

Can one upgrade an MXP1700 to L5.1.1 to F9.X ??? 

I am trying to upgrade and it's not working for me ...

Huh? Are you sure it's an 1700MXP? The only systems I know about running L type software is the 150MXP, which cannot run F-versions anyway.

In which case the last ever software version released for this platform was, as far as I know, L6.1.

The 150MXP is way past its end of support date (31 January 2015), so you should really consider replacing any of these ancient endpoints.
