What does the Autoanswer On, Microphone muted option do?

Hello Cisco Support Community,

Can someone explain what the Autoanswer On, Microphone muted option does?

Does this automatically mute the endpoint at the beginning of each call and if not, is there a way for me to do so?

Thank you!

An incoming call will auto-answer, and when it does, the mic inputs will be muted.

That is what I thought but for some reason the mic input is not muted when the call is connected. Is there a setting that needs to be checked on the endpoint in order for this to work?

All that is needed is to set AutoAnswer Mute On. If it's not working, then check to make sure auto answer is enabled. If auto answer is enabled, than check the endpoint logs (all.log), to see if the microphone is being muted and possibly something is unmuting afterward.

Thank you Patrick! I was on the phone with Cisco TAC yesterday trying to figure out what is going on and I'll mention to the engineer about the endpoint log to see if he can find anything. We did find out that this function works on a point to point call between 2 endpoints but when we add the CMS into the conference, it no longer works.
