C40 Codec not saving right phonebook address

Hello,

I have a C40 codec which was sent from Cisco (RMA) recently.  One of our guys put in the wrong phonebook address.  However, when I try and change it, it works.  However, after about an hour I look at the codec and the address changes back to the original wrong address.  I have tried about 5 times over the past week and have had no luck.  Thank you in advance for your help.

Tim

Hi Tim

TMS has a setting in the Network Settings: Enforce Management Settings

TMS enforces the phonebook address, management address and the feedback address. The address that is pushed is the ipv4 address (also a field in the network settings of TMS). If you have typed in the FQDN of the TMS, TMS will prefer this address and push this to the endpoints. In this case the endpoint need a valid DNS server to resolve the FQDN.

TMS pushes this address on a timed interval so even if you change it manually, TMS will override it. If the endpoint is on the public internet then the "public ip or FQDN" will be pushed to the system. This is depending on the status of the system (reachable on LAN or Public internet)

Amit also provides a valid answer here with the configuration templates as the pb url can be configured here as a persistent setting, but as far as I know the persistent template is pushed on a daily interval at minimum so its more likely the enforce management settings is the sinner here.

Check that the addresses in TMS is correct. To prove the theory you can change it manually on the endpoint, then go to the endpoint in system navigator click on the Settings tab, then Edit Settings and at the bottom there is a button "Enforce management settings". Click this and check the phonebook address, did it change to the wrong address now?

Hi Tim,

can you provide more information, like are you fetching phonebook into codec from TMS ?

is your TMS provide settings to the codec through templates.

if possible provide xstatus and xconfig from codec when address book is correct and when it changes to wrong

It turns out that the provisioning tab under external manager was incorrect on the codec.  That was why it was changing back.  Thank you all for your input.
