Alerts for SIP Trunk Out of Service

Is it possible for RTMT to send alerts when a SIP trunk goes out of service? I know that a Syslog entry gets made with the details but is there a way to turn that into an alert through RTMT or do I need to use a Syslog server?

Thank You

sbosworth,

Follow the steps below  to create custom alert on RTMT..

1- Go to System--> Performance--> Open Performance Monitoring

2-Go to cisco sip stack--> open it and choose what you need for monitoring.

3-Right click on it and select "counter monitoring"

4-there will be chart on the right panel, right click on it and select "Set Alert/Properties"

5-Select the "Enable Alert" checkbox and configure the parameters needed

You will be able to view the alert on Alert Central-->custom tab

I see quite a few options under the Cisco SIP Stack folder.  Which item in this folder will monitor the Full Service/No service for sip trunks.

Thanks,

That works great thank you!

Here's an easier way to do this:

  1. Open RTMT
  2. System-->Go to Alert Central
  3. Locate the SyslogStringMatchFound item, open the properties
  4. Click "Next" until you get to Syslog Alert Parameters
  5. Add the following string: %UC_CALLMANAGER-3-SIPTrunkOOS: %
  6. Save

This should alert you whenever that syslog event occurs.

The string (%UC_CALLMANAGER-3-SIPTrunkOOS: %) you mentioned is this generic or the UC_CALLMANAGER-3 has to be changed our corresponding cucm name?

Should be generic...although the "3" might refer to which node generated the alert.  You might just want to use the SIPTrunkOOS portion in your search string.

The easiest way to check would be to knock out a SIP trunk and copy the message from your syslogs.
