Why would calls answer to speaker if the headset is picked up to take the call? So when a user receives a call, the user picks up the handset but the call is answered on the speaker phone? Auto Answer is not on. What could cause this?

Could be a firmware issue. What phone model are you using and what is the firmware version being used?

Hi,
Is this happening to one phone or all phones.
I have seen some TAC case and RMA was the solution. Please see with TAC and check if it is hardware problem.

Hi Justin,
This is almost certainly a hardware problem with the Hookswitch as Ronak nicely noted (+5). After deploying Cisco IP Phones for the last few years we (and many others) have found this to be the most common hardware problem. There is a "Best Practice" for cleaning the Hookswitch contacts (link below) that does work "sometimes" . Usually the phone has to be replaced/RMA'd.

wondering if the HookSwitch issue was the cause of this problem ?
when picking up the handset the phone goes to speaker.
